    Whether you have dreams or visions or not, I want you to be aware that these avenues of Divine communication play a very important part in cultivating a prophetic lifestyle. The prophet Joel declared the current relevance of dreams and visions and linked them with the prophetic when he prophesied,

“And it shall come to pass afterward
That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your old men shall dream dreams,
Your young men shall see visions.”
Joel 2:28 NKJV

    In referencing the Prophet Joel, the Apostle Peter gave one of his best sermons and in doing so he marked the birthing of the New Covenant era (Acts 2:17). This was a milestone event when it came to God’s plan. At this point, He made an incredible change to planet earth, in fulfilling the Old Covenant and birthing the New. This was achieved when Jesus Christ was raised from the dead and ascended to rule and reign with the Father. Jesus said to His disciples,

 “A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me, because I go to the Father.”
John 16:16 NKJV

    Jesus was not talking here about His second coming. He was referring to His re-emergence in the form of the Holy Spirit with the accompanying outpouring of His power and authority.
